George Romney and his links with Dalton-in-Furness
Heritage Open Day: George Romney, artist was born in Dalton-in-Furness in 1734 and buried there in 1802. An exhibition about Romney and his work and three of his original sketch books will be on show as well as maps and photographs of Dalton in the past. There will be activities for children available. Visitors will be able to pick up a leaflet detailing a walking tour of the town.
