Heritage Open Day: Largely dating to the 14th century, the church at Holnest is a Grade I listed building of considerable architectural and historic interest, having been narrowly saved from demolition in the 1950s by Ivor Bulmer Thomas and the Friends of Friendless Churches. Original features include a Jacobean pulpit, a medieval barrel-vaulted roof and box pews complete with curved candle sconces above. A small display about the history of the building will be mounted by the Friends of Holnest Church. Donations towards upkeep are very welcome.
