Cable Hut

Heritage Open Day: The Cable Hut was built in 1911 as a telegraph relay station between London and France. The cables were cut during WWII and the hut turned into a gun emplacement. It was damaged having been used as target practice by the Canadian troops. It was restored in 1947 and has been used as as a fishing hut. It is now privately owned but visitors will be able to see old photographs of its history and evidence of the cable that ran to France. The hut is located in the Seaford Head Nat
