Abbey Lane Chapel
Heritage Open Day: Abbey Lane Chapel is where the United Reformed Church worship in Saffron Walden. The Building dates from 1811 and is listed Grade II. The fine panelled doors surmounted by beautiful regency fanlights lead into a largely original 19th century interior with impressive mahogany pulpit, cathedral glass screen and original pews. The 1858 William Hedgeland organ is listed as of historic importance by the British Institute of Organ Studies.
