Hollytrees Museum

Heritage Open Day: A Georgian house built in 1718/19. It is now home to Colchester’s Visitor Information Centre and a museum of family life and childhood in Colchester over the past 300 years. Displays include the nursery rhyme 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' which was written in Colchester in 1806 by Jane Taylor. A special event for Heritage Open Days is the opportunity to meet a costumed re-enactor, Mrs Sibylla Round, who will show you round her Victorian home.
