Heritage Open Day: This grade 1 listed church, dedicated to St John the Baptist, dates from the eleventh century. A new church was effectively grafted onto the ancient tower in 1862 based on designs by Samuel sanders Teulon. It has been described by a President of the Royal Institute of British Architects as 'one of the most interesting buildings in England'.
