Mottram Parish Church
Heritage Open Day: The Parish Church of St. Michael & All Angels, is a fine medieval building in the Perpendicular style, set on the top of Warhill in Mottram in Longdendale. In c1490 Edmund Shaa, Lord Mayor of London, left money in his will for the building of the tower. It is possible that the whole church was rebuilt at the same time. In 1855 the church had a major restoration, by local architect E. H. Shellard. The nave roof was raised, and the rather small upper (clerestory) windows replace
