Bishop's Stortford Castle Mound

Heritage Open Day: Waytemore Castle is a Grade I listed building and scheduled ancient monument. The mound is the motte of a former Norman motte and bailey castle and is one of the earliest still visible signs of settlement of the town. Tours describing the history of the castle and its surroundings will be led by local experts and will last 20-25 minutes. Information will also be provided about other visitor attractions in the town, including other Heritage Open Day properties.

Sat 9 Sep:Hourly tours 1000-1500 inclusive. Free Entry.
