Heritage Open Day: St Werburgh Church is a Grade I listed, medieval building which has recently undergone major refurbishment to replace the Victorian tile and wood floor with stone tiles. The old floor had been severely damaged by the action of woodworm in the joists and had become dangerous. The church received major grants from the Heritage Lottery Fund, and other grant awarding bodies, as well as receiving considerable support from the local community all of which has enabled this work to p
