Haslam Park and Local Nature Reserve

Heritage Open Day: Haslam Park was created in 1910 on land given to the people of Preston by Mary Haslam the daughter of a local mill owner. The architect Thomas Mawson designed the park and much of his work including an avenue of lime trees, wrote iron gates and a drinking fountain still remain. In 2005 former farmland adjoining the park was designated a Local Nature Reserve. The diverse habitat includes a wetland part of which is the donor site for locally and nationally threatened aquatic
