Jeremiah Horrocks Observatory
Heritage Open Day: Discover the newly refurbished observatory in Moor Park, named after the famous Lancashire astronomer who first observed the transit of Venus. It was built in 1927 and houses a historic Cooke 8 inch refractor telescope, as well as displays of meteorites and astronomical history. Preston and District Astronomical Society members will give short talks on astronomy and, weather permitting, show visitors solar observing.
