St Oswald's Church and Grounds
Heritage Open Day: Visit and see inside and around St Oswald's Church Old Swan.
When the church was built, Old Swan was just a small village 'near Prescot'. The area was mainly fields with a few houses and a road along which stage coaches passed and horses were changed.
St Oswald's is a Pugin church, built in 1842 and enlarged in 1957.
It was the first Catholic Church, with a spire, built in the North of England after the Reformation .
