Newark Town Hall Museum
Heritage Open Day: Newark Town Hall museum will be open to the public on the 7th, 8th and 9th of September, but on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th volunteers dressed in Georgian costume will greet visitors in the Market Place and direct them to the museum. The Town Hall was built in 1776 by the architect John Carr of York. It was hoped that the ballroom would rival the Assembly Rooms in Bath.
