Art In Mining Heritage

Heritage Open Day: The historic Miners Hall in Barnsley(opened in 1912) has many paintings,drawings & pictures with a Mining Heritage theme that members of the Public rarely get chance to view.The NUM has recently supported a group of Ex & Retired Miners (People & Mining) & other Heritage Groups to raise over £120,000 to create a Memorial Sculpture in memory of the worst Mining Disaster in English Mining History( The Oaks Colliery Barnsley which killed 361 men & boys) Miner`s son Graham Ibbeson,
