St James' Norton Open Days

Heritage Open Day: Formerly in Derbyshire, St James' Norton is one of Sheffield's oldest buildings, with parts going back to the 1100s, and a unique 9-sided font of about 1210. The Blythe Chapel (1520) contains alabaster tombs of scythe-merchants, and we have several reminders of Sir Francis Chantrey (1781-1841), including a full-sized statue by John Bell. 2017 is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, and on Saturday 9th, there will be a talk by the Rector on 'What did the
