St John The Evangelist Church, Hoylandswaine
Heritage Open Day: St John's is a small Grade II listed Victorian Church with a recently-uncovered wall painting around the East Window by the renowned pre-Raphaelite artist, John Roddam Spencer Stanhope of Cawthorne.
The painting was whitewashed over in the 1960s as a result of water damage, but has recently been uncovered and successfully conserved. It is now a rare and exciting addition to the Church and complements the Burne-Jones designed and William Morris Company manufactured stain
