A Cause for Celebration: 50 Years of Conservation Areas
Heritage Open Day: It is 50 years since the introduction of the Civic Amenities Act, one of the most important pieces of legislation relating to the conservation of the built environment. The Act introduced conservation areas, of which there are now about 10,000 nation-wide. This exhibition tells the story of how the legislation came about and the people behind it, illustrated with example of conservation areas in Mole Valley.
