Friends of St Mary's (F.o.S.M.) Open Church Day.

Heritage Open Day: St Mary's Church was built in 1752 to designs by Stephen Wright, then Clerk of Works at Hampton Court Palace, on the site of an earlier Anglo-Saxon building. The Victorians substantially altered the interior between 1850 -1895. Samuel Teulon designed a decorative scheme, embracing both Byzantine and Medieval Gothic styles for the East end of the Church. Scraffito murals by Heywood Sumner were added circa 1895, together with art nouveau - style ornamented capitals. The
