Heritage Open Day: This small museum, created by a group of enthusiastic volunteers, provides a unique insight into the life of a Newcastle primary school which first opened its gates in 1893. Chillingham Road School has, since it began as a Victorian Board School, been at the centre of the community of South Heaton. Displays include extracts from log books kept by the head teachers of the school, and from original photographs and documents which until 2013 lay gathering dust in drawers and cupb
