St James and St Basil's Church, Fenham

Heritage Open Day: The church was designed by Edward Eric Lofting. It is thought of as amongst the great churches of the Arts and Crafts movement. Stained glass windows by Edward Woore. Consecration June 1931. It is a grade II listed building and is said to be built with stone from Dobson's 1830 Newcastle Prison faced with stone quarried in Kenton. Built to commemorate WWI. The church will be open for Heritage Open Days on Saturday 9th. There will be displays in connection with the church
