St John's Church
Heritage Open Day: Visit and view the Grade II listed Parish Church of St. John the Evangelist, completed in 1869 in a ‘rogue gothic’ style to the design of architect, Enoch Bassett Keeling. It will feature the history of St. John’s and the Parish and the activities of the Killingworth WWI Commemoration Partnership. There will be exhibitions of memorials across the Parish; records of the 292 men who fell, Mining in the Parish display and flower displays. Refreshments will be available.
