The Houghton Heritage Walk
Heritage Open Day: A guided walk around Houghton-le-Spring's historic locations ably led by local historian and Houghton Heritage Society's Chairman, Paul Lanagan. The walk will take in many of the town's noteworthy buildings, including many connected to Houghton's Rector, Bernard Gilpin who was born 500 years ago this year. Meet outside of Houghton Methodist Church and will end at the Wild Boar public house where many of the Society's old photographs are on display
