Wooldale Quaker Meeting House

Heritage Open Day: The Quaker [Friends] Meeting House at Wooldale is primarily a building of 1783 but incorporating late 17th century parts being partially remodelled in about 1900. It includes a meeting room, gallery and elders bench. It is Grade II listed. Quakerism came to the Holme Valley in its infancy in the mid 17th century. The Jackson family [Meal Hill, Jackson Bridge, Totties Hall, Wooldale Hall] were largely responsible for establishing the Meeting House. Also to be seen is the burial
