St Laurence’s Church, Grade I listed, oldest building in Slough. Claims to fame: grave of Sir William Herschel who discovered Uranus. Other family graves of interest (tours, weather permitting). Newly restored painted Chancel arches dating 1160; stain glass windows including Kempe. Links with local poet, Thomas Gray; Dicken’s publisher and many more. Links with Sullivan/Otty Hill Station in the Nilgiris* and also Bermuda. New displays in Heritage area including model of Herschel’s telescope. Exh
