Calke Abbey - 1940s Calke and tea dance
It's 1940 at Calke. Visit the house to meet characters from Calke's past, then join us in the Riding School from 2.15pm for a 1940s tea dance. Most of the staff have gone to war but you can meet the cook and the estate manager who are keeping the house. From 2.15pm, take shelter from an air raid in the Riding School. You'll find the land girls jiving away with the Home Guard and you can join in. Booking Not Needed.
