Choral Favourites in Context
A great many of the world’s favourite choral works
were composed to be used within church services. This is a Festival of three favourite works performed within the sacred context, for which they were designed, each occasion lasting just
inside an hour.
Fauré’s Requiem on Sunday, November 5th, is sung straight through, framed with hymns,
prayers and a reading.
On Remembrance Sunday, is “As the leaves fall”, a fifteen-minute work by Harold Darke, composed in 1917 to a poem by the soldier-p
