BRIGHT. YOUNG. THINGS.
Have you ever desired the dream, sought out the spotlight? Or just wanted to be the best at something? Most of us have, but what is it we’re really chasing? And will it be the dream we wanted?
On a reality television show, six remarkable – and remarkably young – geniuses are competing for the coveted Golden Brain trophy and the title ‘Britain’s Brainiest Child’. As the contestants battle it out round after round, the pressure mounts, the spotlight gets harsher, and each is faced with questions they were never expecting. Who will win and who will lose? And what exactly does winning mean anyway?
“Bright. Young. Things.”, by Georgia Christou, is a funny, fast-paced play about identity, truth and the challenge of finding out who you really are. It is, in turns, funny, thought-provoking and poignant, and will keep you guessing to the end in this fast-paced take on the wacky world of reality TV. Pete Burton directs the fantastic cast, which includes many of our talented younger actors (as well as some old faces returning to Bishopstoke Players!).
Performances are at Durley Memorial Hall from Thurs 16th to Sat 18th May at 7.30 (doors open 7pm). Tickets are £12 (£8 under-18s) and are available at www.bishopstokeplayers.uk/buy-tickets (no booking fee) or via our ticket line 07871 006551 or email boxoffice@bishopstokeplayers.uk
As we are proud to have done every year since 1947, proceeds will be donated to the charity Action for Children.
