In Turner’s Footsteps along the Thames and Wey
Among David Hill’s many publications and exhibitions is ‘Turner on the Thames’ (Yale University Press, 1993) which retraced Turner’s journeys along the Thames during 1805, including his sailing trips upstream to Oxford or along the River Wey to Guildford and Godalming. David will consider the scenery and buildings depicted by Turner, showing how he retreated to the confines of nature for solstice.
