Helen Allingham
An exhibition devoted to the leading Victorian
watercolour painter Helen Allingham RWS (1848-1926). Featuring little-known works from private collections, this exhibition explores Allingham’s life and career in full.
Having trained at the prestigious Royal Academy Schools and the Slade, Allingham initially worked as a graphic artist, creating the illustrations to Thomas Hardy’s Far from the Madding Crowd, some of which will be on display.
