Ray (Chooper) Cooper
Ray started to play in bands when he was 16, moving between rock, punk, pop and world music, working as a singer, bass guitarist and cellist. He joined Oyster Band in 1988 and in 2012 the band was dubbed 'one of the three icons of folk' by fRoots magazine and swept the board at the 2012 BBC2 Radio 2 Folk Awards, winning best group, best album and best traditional track.
