Nine Lessons and Carols is, per tradition, about the story of the fall of humanity, the promise of the Messiah, and the birth of Jesus, told in nine short Bible readings, or lessons, from Genesis, the prophetic books and the Gospels, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols, hymns and choir anthems.
A lovely service to attend; there is a bit of everything here, carols for you to sing, the choir to listen to and short readings to contemplate. The carols for this service are: Once in royal David's city, Long ago prophets knew, O little town of Bethlehem, While shepherds watched their flocks by night, We three Kings of Orient are and, of course, O come all ye faithful.
Afterwards you're welcome to stay for seasonal refreshments
