The Year of The Hiker - A Play
‘The Year of the Hiker’ written in 1963 by John. B. Keane, tells the moving story of a man, nicknamed ‘The Hiker’, who goes out for a pack of cigarettes and disappears for 20 years. His wife has to endure the shame of being left (this being early 1960s) and to bring up their children in difficult times.
