The Three Towns present ’The Pirates Of Penzance’ - A Musical Comedy

The Three Towns present 'The Pirates Of Penzance' - A Musical Comedy

An action-packed, swash-buckling production! Frederic was as a child apprenticed to a band of tender-hearted, orphaned pirates, by his nurse who had mistaken her master's instructions to apprentice the boy to a pilot. Upon completing his 21st year, Frederic rejoices that he is now free to return to respectable society. He meets Mabel, the daughter of Major-General Stanley, and it is love at first sight! But the pirates have an unpleasant surprise in store for our hero… Frederic was born on the 29th February, and so, technically, he only has a birthday each leap year. His apprenticeship states that he remains apprenticed to the pirates until his 21st birthday, and so he must serve for another 63 years. Bound by his sense of duty, Frederic's only solace is that Mabel agrees faithfully to wait for him .
Mabel is out with her sisters for a day at the beach. They are captured by the pirates who plan to marry them! A band of less than courageous policemen are sent to apprehend them. A battle ensues! In true Gilbertian fashion - all ends happily when it is revealed that the pirates are indeed peers of the realm who have ‘all gone wrong’!!
