Robinson Crusoe and the Pirates

The plot follows the traditional story of Robinson Crusoe where a sailor is shipwrecked on a desert island only to find that there are some inhabitants. To give the show a panto twist the show starts out in sunny Rio and the sailors are followed to sea by a band of ner-do-well pirates. Audience members (young and old) are being encouraged to come along in pirate costumes to join in the fun. Being pantomime there is lots of slapstick, audience participation and humour lead by Pontefract’s favourite Dame, Eric Arundell, as Margarita Juicilita. It is a traditional pantomime, but with an up-to-date script by Alan Frayn. The show features 100s of costumes all made locally and sce
