Longtown and Ponthendre Castles Project Talk.
Martin Cook and Neil Kidd will be updating us on the findings of the excavations at the two castles. Was Ponthendre the first site used by the Normans? Is there any sign of a Roman presence in the earthworks at Longtown? Could the Saxons have used it and when did the Normans develop the site? Come to the talk to find out what our dig has revealed
