Franz Liszt: Via Crucis
Anton Bruckner: Sacred Motets
Liszt's Via Crucis (1878) for choir, organ and baritone, depicts the final hours of Christ's life, from his condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his crucifixion.
The choir also presents a collection of Bruckner's famous sacred motets, which set a variety of Latin biblical texts, including Christus factus est, Virga Jesse, and Locus Iste.
Both Liszt's Via Crucis and Bruckner's Sacred Motets are considered to be deeply religious and spiritual works, reflective of the composers' deep faith and devotion.
