Swaledale Festival - Maya Youssef Trio

Syrian musician Maya Youssef is a virtuoso player of the Qanun - a traditional 78-string zither found across the Arab world, Turkey, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Winner of an Exceptional Talent Award in 2012, she regularly appears on television and at venues and festivals worldwide. Accompanied by percussionist Elizabeth Nott and cellist Barney Morse-Brown, Maya combines her extraordinary musical gifts with warmth, humour and optimism.
