Wordsworth House and Garden - Where Poppies Blow
An evocative special exhibition commemorating the end of the First World War. Where Poppies Blow tells the story of a doomed generation, including poet Edward Thomas, author of Adelstrop, who fought to protect the fields, flowers and birds of Britain. Curated by award-winning author John Lewis-Stempel, it reveals the importance of the British countryside and sense of place as an incentive to join up, and the solace nature afforded to men in the trenches. A first set of evocative exhibits will be on display until 8 July with a second set from 16 July. Closed 9-15 July. Booking Not Needed.
A National Trust Event - Gates open 11:00. Start 11:00. End 16:00. Free Event but Normal Admission Charges Apply. Check website for latest information.
