Wordsworth House and Garden - Where Poppies Blow

An evocative special exhibition commemorating the end of the First World War. Where Poppies Blow tells the story of a doomed generation, including poet Edward Thomas, author of Adelstrop, who fought to protect the fields, flowers and birds of Britain. Curated by award-winning author John Lewis-Stempel, it reveals the importance of the British countryside and sense of place as an incentive to join up, and the solace nature afforded to men in the trenches.
