World Textile Day Wales
A wonderful day out for anyone who loves textiles. A collection of world textile traders and collectors get together for a day in this lovely friendly market town. We have an exhibition of world textiles, a market place and two talks.
There are seven World Textile Days around the country each year and each year we have a new theme. The theme for 2018 is "Working Together". Our talks and exhibition will reflect the theme of how teamwork is so important in making beautiful textiles.
At 11am well known sashiko quilter and author, Susan Briscoe will be exploring the way that Japanese Sashiko is made in a talk called "Hand to Hand". At 2pm Jim Gaffney will give a short talk about Teamwork in Action is making Indonesian ikat textiles, followed by "My Favourite Textiles" - bring one of your favourite textiles along and tell everyone a little about it.
Come and meet up with friends at this small and friendly show.
Free entrance. Open from 10 am until 4.30 pm.
Talks at 11 am and 2pm. Talks tickets are available on the day and cost £3 each or £5 for both. Good parking available close by. Tea, coffee and cakes served by the Quilt Association.
