Unesco International Day of Dance - dances from around the World
29th April is Unesco International Day of Dance. The theme this year is 'Back to the Roots'.
I will be teaching early Spanish and Portuguese dances collected in 1930 and before, plus
South African Quadrille dance from the late 18oo's and Riel dance from at least 10,000 BC.
When European settlers arrived in S. Africa in 1652, much changed for the San (named Bushmen by the colonists) and the KhoiKhoi (named Hottentots by the colonists) Their culture changed dramatically. T
