In the year we’ve been celebrating the centenary of Women’s Suffrage in the UK and as part of centenary year celebrations we’re pleased to announce that local historian and author, Janet Hurst, will be speaking about the role of local women as Red Cross volunteers in the Great War. Women’s work in the conflict was a key factor in the Government granting the vote.
