In one of his final roles, the late Sir John Hurt plays Ralph, a once famous terminally ill writer struggling to come to terms with his own mortality. Determined to reconcile with his long-abandoned son and to not become a burden to his devoted younger wife, as he goes “into that good night”, he hire the services of the “visitor” who unexpectedly guides him to find new meaning in his life.
