Our Town

George Gibbs and Emily Webb are just an ordinary boy and girl, going through the pains and joys of growing up in an ordinary town.

Except, seen through the tender, observant lens of Thornton Wilder’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play, their lives don’t seem that ordinary at all.

This classic of American theatre tore up dramatic convention when it was first produced in 1938, treating the highs and lows of ordinary folks with the care and attention usually reserved for kings and queens. This bittersweet play reminds us that everyone’s lives are full of the greatest glory and the deepest tragedy, if you only take the trouble to look…
Our Town is a great opportunity to see emerging talent from one of the UK’s top drama schools. Graduates of this course include the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award winner Claire Foy; and BAFTA nominee Babou Ceesay.
