Andrew Adonis is a Labour peer. He was the Secretary of State for Transport under Gordon Brown and an education minister before that. He was Chair of the National Infrastructure Committee from October 2015 until late 2017, when he resigned in response to the Government’s handling of the East Coast railway crisis and Brexit.
Prior to his career in politics Andrew worked as a journalist at the Financial Times and the Observer and as an academic, completing a PhD in History at Oxford University
