Powder her Face
This summer will see Nevill Holt Opera’s much-anticipated unveiling of their brand new 400-seat theatre which allows for an incredible experience amongst the stunning grounds of the historic Grade I listed Leicestershire estate.
The festival’s second production is the first UK revival of the acclaimed production of Adès’ Powder her Face, originally created by Northern Ireland Opera, conducted by rising star Ian Ryan. Directed and designed by Antony McDonald, this production will star Mary Plazas in the title role.
Acclaimed for its expertise across wide range of repertoire, the second orchestral partnership with Cambridge based ensemble Britten Sinfonia, makes them the perfect ensemble for a production like Powder her Face – in particular their close association with composer and conductor Thom Adès.
