Open garden for the National Garden Scheme

The Coal Tip Cloister Garden is a small personal space created in order to help us unwind from our work as nurses. Its main character is enclosure and a sense of rest. It is not a flowery garden but is formed out of shrubs and trees - forming a tapestry of hedging with arches and niches being cut out in order to place seats and sculpture and to produce a visual rhythm.
