Wonderwool’s Curtain of Poppies Exhibition
The Curtain of Poppies, the result of contributions of knitters and fibre fans from all over the UK and beyond, was brought together by Wonderwool. The 79,300 knitted, felt and crochet poppies were made in memory of those who died in the Great War. Some of these were created by Newtown people, so it will be good to have it on display here. The Curtain had its debut at Wonderwool Wales in April 2018 and since then has been displayed in various places around Wales. This month – September – it is on display at the Newtown Textile Museum before moving on to Oswestry. In 2019 it will be on permanent display at the Gower Heritage Centre. This magnificent display is not to be missed.
The exhibition will be on display during normal opening hours Free entry
