Tuesday Treasure: Coins and Currency
From China to Rome and back to Leeds, drop in to explore and handle a selection of objects used as money from our collection.
Special Collections holds over 15,000 coins, tokens, and banknotes from all over the world. Not all of these objects are coins in the traditional sense. The forms they take and the images chosen to appear on them vary greatly. The images in particular can tell us a lot about the context in which the objects were made.
