Dunkirk 1940 Study Evening

The British have a peculiar talent for extracting glory from defeat, of which the so-called ‘Miracle of Dunkirk’ is perhaps the prime example. In Churchill’s words, wars are not won by evacuations. It was not a victory, but it was a salvation. Had the Army not been saved, we could not have fought on.
