Tudor Weekend and Craft Fayre
Once again our band of Tudors will be setting up their encampment within the grounds of the beautiful medieval Coggeshall Grange Barn for the weekend. There will be Tudor characters such as the barber-surgeon (not for the squeamish), the cunning man (don't believe a word he tells you), and the Alchemist demonstrating his special kind of magic.
Try on some armour, make a charm to ward off the plague, or make a sweet smelling pomander? Visit the herbalist for cures for many common ailments or perhaps visit the gentry folke as they dine in the gorgeous Paycockes House. Try some period dancing or perhaps get to sample some "Tudor" foods.
With period music and a few modern craftspeople, in the barn itself, there will be something for everyone. You may even get to "scribe" your name, but beware as there are thieves and cutpurses everywhere. Why not bring a picnic and stay all day, or treat yourself to our on-site refreshments while watching a puppet show? We hope to see you soon.
11am - 5pm each day. Normal prices apply £7.50 per adult £3.75 per child (£20 family ticket). Prices cover BOTH venues and National Trust members attend FREE.
